Reasons to be cheerful

That hen on the left is interesting. It’s what is known in chicken breeding circles as either Barred Wheaten or Barred Duckwing. Any idea what breed it is? It’s very like a Welbar but with white ears.

They are lovely :-)17 :-)17 :-)17 Ours will be getting some greens hung up today as well

Something a bit different today, we all got together at work and collected 1400 Easter Eggs to deliver to the NHS staff and kids in the children's ward at our local hospital. here is my bus laden and ready for the journey. Pics in window from local children

That's Nadia, our Chalkhill Blue (a cream legbar hybrid), layer of 977 eggs in her lifetime (she's even managed several this year!)

May I add my congratulations BYM, we salute you and your colleagues, putting yourselves in danger for the common good, not everyone would do it, so you have my total respect.....and I hope you had a chocolate shaped reward as well!

We weren't allowed in obviously, but I can imagine the children had big smiles. We collected for presents for the children last Christmas and that got a big smile. Each year we pick a different group to collect for. The year before it was food to make up into boxes for salvation Army to distribute.
Sadly when I got back the Easter eggs left for drivers had all gone, always someone who has to nab more than their fair share.
Thanks for your kind words much appreciated, especially after the rude woman who thought it was out of order letting an NHS worker travel free, you wouldn't believe some peoples attitudes. I expect you can.
My ex wife's daughter from her 1st marriage is a paramedic as his her son. When she got home at 10pm there wasn't anywhere to park by her house so she parked down the road, next morning there was a message through her door telling her to not park in "MY SPOT". Don't think your job makes you that special that you can park where you like. Good job my ex wife isn't alive because she would find the person and kill them

Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry. But honestly bym I sometimes wonder whether such people are the same species as the rest of us. I know that we are genetic composites of the other three hominids that once roamed the earth. Perhaps some got to much Neanderthal and a bit less Sapiens.

Gorgeous! I like the way they list the cast :D

Little bit cool today, but just lovely in the sunshine! I went for a 45 minute walk, and had a (socially distanced) chat with a neighbour. It really made me feel better. Saturday was a very hard day. The weather was chilly, dark and damp, my motivation and mood were very low. Thankfully, that doesn't last long. I have a long list of things that need doing, but so far, I'm not making much progress! :D Although I will say that the garden looks a bit tidier, because I've been here to do mowing and strimming!

Right now, I'm off out to do a bit more in the garden, and then maybe some sewing. The birdsong out in my garden is just about deafening. :) This morning, I wondered why I couldn't hear any birds, and when I looked out there was a hawk of some kind sitting on an electricity cable that crosses my place down toward the back. It sat there for nearly an hour, surveying it's kingdom closely! They're nesting in the trees around, I think. They've been here a couple of years. After it flew off, the birds all started singing again.

I wonder if, when this lockdown situation is all over, will we be like that? All chirping away, once danger has passed! :D

That was lovely, can we tick them on our year list, especially the more exotic ones ?
We were discussing that this morning Lady A, conclusion the majority will revert to their selfish ways

(This post is from HenGen. I’ve just helped reduce the file size for posting it. Definitely 6 reasons to be cheerful!)

Two ewes lambed. Two sets of triplets. In each set two ewe lambs and one ram lamb. This afternoon the two boys will go to a neighbour to be fostered onto a ewe who’s lambs were born dead.
These lambs are two hours old. They’ve each suckled some colostrum so hopefully all’s well.

Smashing, very positive if they have had colostrum. Nice looking lambs
