Reasons to be cheerful

OH and I had hysterics at this! Not sure how to make the hyperlink work:

Me too Mrs Biscuit, in fact I'm still chortling. I'll have to put it on FaceBook for my friends.

BYM, I've had a couple of FB posts with the human wearing the "Elizabethan collar" and the cat or dog without one saying things like "It's for your own good, you must stop touching your face".

BIG Reason to be cheerful! I just got this from Tim. Maybe lots of us addicts might like to send him a thank you message?
Tim says;

“IceMaiden sent me a message last night about errors appearing when posting.
The host had updated the server software and although I tested everything - I didn't try posting!
When I went to update the forum software today (to hopefully fix the issue) it didn't go well....

6 hours later.... I have completely re-installed the software from scratch and then re-installed our data / users etc.
I have re-installed the Ad software, Tapatalk and the Forum counter-spam measures too.
I also pruned a load of inactive users without posts / visits that registered pre-Nov. 2019.

I'm shattered, perhaps you would be kind enough to look out for anything that doesn't look right? You may notice a few new features in this version of software too.

Yes, we are isolated, very strange times indeed!”

Thank you Tim, this afternoon I couldn't post at all, so I guessed you might be fiddling with things behind the scenes, although I didn't think it would be a complete re-install. Much appreciated however, especially in these difficult times.

P messaged Tim also.
In a mad world the dust bath is definitely keeping us all sane

Thank you Tim!! Nearly had a meltdown yesterday afternoon, when I couldn't get on the forum at all, until I realised you must be working on it!

Lovely bright sunny morning here! Cold though.

Is anyone else finding themselves craving things that they don't have on hand? This morning, I would have just about stabbed someone for sausages! I'm not usually keen on sausages so of course don't have any, but I really wanted them! I think it's because I had a bit of a migraine yesterday (first one for MONTHS! :-)08 ) and I always crave fat and salt when I've had a migraine. Feeling very good this morning though. I might go for a walk. Thankfully, I can go for a walk, without meeting anyone. Unless the neighbouring farmers have decided to go for a walk too!

I think I may go and work here, the queue seems quite orderly for the bus
it was from an article showing the Great Orme goats really enjoying a deserted Llandudno

Great picture bym. I bet nature all over the place is doing really well out of the current situation.
And doesn’t this enforced leisure time help the learning experience. Today I’ve read up about the Greenland Shark and the Immortal Jellyfish. Both mind blowing creatures.

Oh, I had a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning! It was cool, but not very cold. Loads of primroses out and some violets. Loads of birds singing. really did me good!

This is the OH, I was telling marigold a tale by email after she sent me the cartoon about farmers and landowners. Said I keep my local farmer tame with tea and bacon sandwiches. Then I told her the whole story and she said it should go on the forum under this header.
I got to know the local farmer Stephen when someone fly tipped a load of rubbish in the field entrance opposite us, in broad daylight, I saw them do it plus it was caught on our gate CCTV, much to the local councils delight.
The farmer was on holiday, so I got it cleared away for him. He came down to thank me, and as we were talking a Spitfire went over, and I professed a love for Lancaster's as my dad was a flight engineer on them, and so did he, as his Uncle Ray was a navigator on them and was shot down and was a POW and Steve had a book published "Dearest Ray" which has all the letters back and forth between him and the family during his time as a POW. He gave me a copy.
A while later I went on a VIP day with a run in the Lancaster "Just Jane" and who was also on a VIP day, Stephen, got talking again and my dad and his uncle were in the same squadron at Woodhall Spa, in all probability knew each other briefly.
So I guess we were destined to become friends.
Best of all he lets me have a go in the combine harvester, and I can go anywhere on his land

That's what life is all about, the seemingly random connection between people. What a lovely story and I bet you love driving the combine ...

Great story BYM, these coincidences are amazing. I'm glad you have your reward in several ways, including driving the combine, they are such massive and expensive bits of kit, not many people would get the chance I'm sure. At the other end of the spectrum we were watching a Portugeuse cooking programme yesteday which featured people hand picking a field of coriander, for some reason I always presumed it grew under cover.

Anyway, I caught up on the goat story this morning, and this made me smile, the text is particularly apt for those of us of a certain age who remember 1980s music. The goats look amazing: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2020/mar/31/llandudno-goats-herd-running-riot-coronavirus-lockdown

Well we have just finished our panic room

Weather has been really good here the last few days. Yesterday, around midday, it was actually warm in the sunshine! I cracked on with my raised beds, filling the last one (well, the current last one!) with soil, and planted some seeds in some of the beds. Spring onions, beetroot, spinach and carrots. Can't wait until things start growing. Broadbeans are coming up nicely, but I'm wondering if I should plant some more. I love broadbeans, and get through a lot, so if possible, I like to have a year's supply stashed in the freezer.
While the lockdown is grim, I have to admit that I'm grateful for the time to spend in the garden, trying to catch up on years of neglect!
