Reasons to be cheerful

What a glorious day! Started off misty and chilly, but the sun came out, and it was actually warm out there in the afternoon! Lawn mowed, and another raised bed filled with soil. Gosh, though, shovelling and wheelbarrowing soil from those ton bags is very hard work!! I've three more beds to fill. Really looking forward to seeing the veg growing in the Summer! Happy Days!

Another beautiful day! I wonder if the lack of aeroplanes has anything to do with it :-) The environment is going to be far cleaner during this lock down.

Equally good here. A real pleasure to be out (in my own fields). People are ringing me every day to check I’m OK. Keep forgetting my age. Initially I think why are they ringing me?

I was going to snap my lambs when they come in 3weeks but if I use my iPad then I can’t post them on here. I’ve tried the method recommended but I can’t make it work.
Anyone who knows how to do it prepared to receive the pic as an email then post it for me?

Did anyone respond to this HenGen? Have sent you a pm with my email and a willing to have a try.

I treated myself to a 6 mile walk today in the sunshine. Saw wild primroses, the first English bluebells of the year and some lovely white flowers that someone on the forum is sure to be able to put a name to (wood anemones perhaps?

This is definitely a consolation- being able to go for a walk...

Yes, wood anemones. What a lovely sight, our house in the UK was close to some ancient woodland, full of spring flowers, particularly the bluebells. It seems early for them, something extra to enjoy.

Went for long walk around local fields and beautiful Yellow Wagtail flew over calling and landed in field, a real spring migrant

How lovely!

Much colder here today. We had a few lovely Spring days, but today, the temps have dropped and there's a bitter wind! I haven't had to use any heat in the house the last few days, except a little electric heater for an hour or so at night, but I will be lighting the stove today! However, cold or not, it's bright out, and I have a full line of laundry hanging outside! :)

I'm working through the covers from two large sofas. All the cushion covers off one washed - I can just get the main cover in the machine but it's such thick heavy cotton need to wash it overnight so it goes out first thing.

Long tailed tit clinging to the corner of the house wall, just where I could see it this morning.

Isn't that a beautiful bird. I love seeing all the colourful birds in Spring. Bullfinches are my personal favourite. We have had 3 glorious days, but as you say, it's much cooler today.

I didn't take the picture, that was from a friend , I added it in case people didn't know what a Yellow Wagtail looked like.
OH usually meets up with friends for a birdwatching session on Saturdays, so today they did an afternoon birdwatch from their respective windows for several hours, a lot of lively banter going on via mobiles. OH had the advantage looking over a big field and open sky.
Verdict, good fun and a big movement of migratory gulls, especially Herring and Mediterranean

The National Theatre is going to stream a new play every Thursday, available for the following week, free. Definitely a reason to be cheerful.

My internet has slowed down so much, with so many either at home watching stuff or working from home, that videos are difficult. They just keep jamming into "buffering" mode. :( Still, I've a good supply of dvds!

A gentleman has posted online his Norfolk photo's to cheer people up and I loved this one of Cley

I get to hear my brother doing "live gigs" on FB live several times a week now. He's a musician in Singapore, and with all the venues closed at the moment, he has time on his hands (and no income!) so he's broadcasting gigs, just to contribute to keeping spirits up. Good to hear him. :)
If anyone wants to look it up and join in singing at home(!), he's Gerry Cox. Gigs are at around 1 pm our time.

I got to finish sharpening my chainsaw and then "go" straight to church (via my computer), still in my chainsaw trousers! That made a change!

OH and I had hysterics at this! Not sure how to make the hyperlink work:

When all he needed was one of those big plastic collars around his neck like pets get to stop them chewing stitches, or a bucket over his head.
Great story though, thanks for sharing
