Hi Ros,
yes we all remember the Speckled Sussex, they are nice birds-just not quite as cute, intelligent, charming, friendly and gorgeous as Sablepoots

.
Ooooh, Sue our 1st 'n-f' mum also had Citronella(Lemon millefleur) Sablepoots, they are very stunning, for
oriental poxed chooks  .
Shame there are only 4 fertile, when we all hatched it was very exciting. We'd been cheeping 'pipping' for a day or two,and then listening for our mum.So we'd had a chance to cheep to each other, and wonder what the world would be like.
Actually breaking the shell and getting out is hard work,we get very warm from pecking so hard. Then, when we've made a hole,we can have a sneaky spy on what's outside our egg.
Non-feather's always think we're taking a rest,er,we're not,we're checking out the lay of the land before emerging from safety.
