We only have a bath, no shower as such apart from the hose from the mixer tap- this is a French 'norm'. Electric showers are an impossibility here because of the supply limits and three phase. We do miss a proper shower, so the intention is to fit a 'P' bath, which is a mixer shower at the large end with a screen (glass or curtain) to contain the water splashes. So effectively you have both bath and shower in one unit. Downsides are more water to fill the bath and having to step over the edge to get to the shower. We have tried a standard bath with a shower but they are downright dangerous as there is insufficient flat standing area and it is easy to slip over (as we have).

All these photo requests for me rushing to bathroom after stripping off, all I can say is " careful what you wish for"

i suppose they rank showers as "walk in" or over the bath type. I hate wet rooms as you have a wet slippery floor.

I was so cold and my feet were painful, I was really grateful for a long hot soak, we don't use the bath often but it is nice to soak aches and pains away.
Some buses seats are very uncomfortable

You need to get a pair of waist- high waders before you try paddling in the lake again, BYM.
It could have been even worse, though.

Apparently it’s the second time it’s happened to this poor man.

One would think he'd learned his lesson the first time and worn more protection!

I did have a pair of waist high waders from my younger days when I was a lot more slimmer. I got rid of them a while ago.

It was only mud and mucky water soon washed off, and people pay a lot of money to be encased in mud at spa's. My skin is silky soft and youthful now

‘Walk-in shower’?
What other sort of shower is there?

The sort over the bath so if you can't get in/out of the bath you can't have a shower either.

My sister can step over the side to use my shower but can't/daren't sit down in the bath.

I got a bath lift for my husband, after he was trapped in the bath for ages one night. The lift was great - it lowered him right down and brought him back up. After he went into full time care, I donated it to his nursing home.

At home she has a lovely corner bath and I'm not sure how well any type of lift would work on that. She has a fantastic multi-jet sower at home.Actually she needs to get herself more mobile which she could do with just a little effort.

That was very generous of you, Lady A.

When we have to stay in hotels/self-catering it's another consideration when choosing. So many have showers over baths. This house did when we moved in, so that was the first modification we had done.

We have had constant drizzle 24/7 for the last 4 days, somehow it's even worse than a downpour, certainly more depressing

Our weather is up and down. Yesterday was a glorious day - bright sunshine and no wind. However, with clear skies, last night was really cold. Looks like today will be nice too.

We've had 3 months of storms and gales here (Outer Hebrides). We now have a period of more settled weather with sunshine!. There is a saying that March 'comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb'. This year it has come in like a lamb. I wonder what's to come?

We've been told that an "Atlantic Weather System will be moving in next week so we'll be back to strong winds and rain.

If that's heading our way too, I'm glad I didn't get around to cleaning my windows!

Apparently there have been ski slopes like golden sand en route across Europe.

We get this sand down here every year, but for some reason not this time, even though it was forecast. The heavy deposits are in the Pyrenees which, at 2-3,000 metres high, are in the airflow carrying it. We are only 50 miles North, but much lower at 200 metres.

Hoping that when the clouds clear we will be able to see the mountains covered in sand instead of snow. It might mean that the lovely crystal clear rivers will be a bit cloudy when the snow begins to melt later this month?
