Lots of lovely pictures Tygrsek. I do sympathise that only one of the three was a girl. It's always the way. Has happened to me most of the times I've had a trio of chicks. Still it could have been worse. Could have been all boys!

Thank you all . I'm trying to promote some breeds from Poland :D
In answer to dorsetduckowner I do not know why is it called like this in England as proper polish name is zielononozka kuropatwiana, but suspecting as they colour is partridge hence the name. The meat of the bird is more game colour yellow/olive skin and dark meat.It is dual purpose bird and hens laing low cholesterol eggs. They traing now in Poland make other colour variants but standert is only in partridge colour.I have now eggs in incy of my cockrel and silver/grey Dorking.Cant wait to see the chicks :)19

I see there's a couple of POL GLPFs pullets in the Salisbury sale catalogue for Feb. 18th. Sorely tempted.... but wouldn't have a clue how to bid, or how to make sure i was bidding for the right birds!

Just stick your hand up   if you do go check out the birds before the auction starts, get a catalogue & a bidding number, check the catalogue matches the lot you are after & mark the lot number , keep close to the birds you want to bid on so you dont miss them & put your hand up! Bear in mind the price could be per bird, not per pen - check this out at the office when you get your bidding number & catalogue from the office. Good luck!

They are called Partridge Fowl as in poultry terms this is the old traditional colour of chickens and the 'wild type' like the Red Jungle Fowl.
Other breeds with this colouring are the Brown Leghorn, the Welsummer (a bit redder though), the Gold Partridge Dutch bantam. The dark green legs are unusual.

I see the first photos of these when you posted them, and thought lovely looking chicks, and just looked through all the pages, and loved watching them 'grow' theyve turned into fabulous birds, and the colour change is fabulous
Would really love to get a couple in the spring :)
Youve done a great job with them :D

Thank you, they really need to free range as not doing well confined.Cocrels become eventually very agressive with eachother and later towards my son,so they really had to go.Still have a hen from that lot in the first year she laid 189 eggs which is really good for this breed :D Lovely ,healthy eggs(low cholesterol). She started to lay when was 24 weeks old.
Before despatching second cockrel I had incubated 2 eggs cross betwen GLPF cockrel and Silver/Grey Dorking-2 chicks I had hatched looks like this now20120609_99_8.jpg
