What's your location Gooseegg? Is there anyone near you who might have experience with assisted hatching that you can ask to give you a hand?

Im in OKC. The size of my hole in the egg is probably not quite a dime size. I see what looks like a membrane. Maybe the outer? Its dark. Looks dry? Do I break it?

If you heard him before and not now its may be to late for the little chap.It is always balancing act if you feel like there is no progres and his calls getting weaker its mean that he is getting weaker too.Iwrote yesterday that i would make my move yesterday but averything is in your discretion now.
I was out with my husband for our 12th wedding anniversary last night. I got back and it was real late. I wasn't sure what to do. So I was going to wait till this morning at the latest

The hole is the size of a nickel now. I can see in. I broke the inner membrane which was real soft. Theres liquid in the egg. I stopped. I just cant go any further. I really want to take the egg somewhere first thing in the morning and have someone else finish it. I just can't see a little baby goose that died but I also dont want to throw it away and it be alive. I think it died for sure. No movement when I candle it at all. I wish I had done something the last time I hear it peep but was told by someone else to wait till today. I never know what the right thing to do is. I think I lost it.

Im gonna take it to Wildcare (a wildlife rescue) at 9am. Just in case.

Sorry to hear all this Gooseegg. It's a very fine balance with assisted hatching. Too early and it bleeds to death, too late and it dies of exhaustion. Many people just leave them and accept that they lose a few, but when you only have one you do the very best you can, as you have.

It died of exhaustion they said... I would have took it there weeks ago but the girl there told me they didn't have good success with geese eggs...I feel terrible. I left there in tears... Thanks everyone for helping.
