HELP MY ARACUNA SEEMS TO HAVE DIARRHOEA!

Thanks Chris. Just read the link on Foxy's post and realised turkeys are affected by a different strain.

I did pm you chickenbrain !

Adrian O'Meara - a blast from the past ! Used to look after my goats 25 years ago. A great guy.

Sorry I havent got back to you all. My beloved cat, who is diabetic has got lost and I have spent the last few days searching and searching for him. I just cant stop crying. It never rains but it pours. He is likely dead by now.I really loved him.
I did take some advice from a national very experienced breeder who I bought some birds off of. He like you said it could be anything but to feed them high protein food, seperate them as I have and give it time. The principle symptom now seems to be lameness, its not getting any better but they are not getting any worse. I looked up a University website which said that lameness can take a couple of weeks to improve. So in the meantime, I am just feeding them up. I will treat them for scaly leg when I can eventually stop crying over my cat. Giving them apple cider vinegar. The breeder told me that over the years he has spent literally thousands of pounds on vets and have never found any of them having a clue.
OK if you have got a bird with something obvious but otherwise a waste of money. The more poorly bird sits lopsidded, but I am not sure if its because the legs are painful.

So sorry to read aboout your cat Chickenbrain. I know from experience that when they go missing and just don't come back it is devastating.

An update!!

Most odd this was, one bird looking lame in one foot and the other off its feet completely. I consulted someone who keeps chickens professionally and he couldnt work it out either, He said they were too young for worms, to feed them a high protein diet, keep them seperated out for now and see how it went. I kept the sickest bird inside for a few days and made sure it got water and food. He reckoned that if a bird was eating he would alsways tend to stick with it. Then the one with one bad foot got better and now the second bird is gradully gettting back on its feet. :-)08 I bathed him in warm water with potassium permanganate, which he seemed to enjoy, rather to my surprise, his tail feathers are looking bedraggled but he seems to be regaining his strength. I still dont know what it was. :-)19
