Sorry I havent got back to you all. My beloved cat, who is diabetic has got lost and I have spent the last few days searching and searching for him. I just cant stop crying. It never rains but it pours. He is likely dead by now.I really loved him.
I did take some advice from a national very experienced breeder who I bought some birds off of. He like you said it could be anything but to feed them high protein food, seperate them as I have and give it time. The principle symptom now seems to be lameness, its not getting any better but they are not getting any worse. I looked up a University website which said that lameness can take a couple of weeks to improve. So in the meantime, I am just feeding them up. I will treat them for scaly leg when I can eventually stop crying over my cat. Giving them apple cider vinegar. The breeder told me that over the years he has spent literally thousands of pounds on vets and have never found any of them having a clue.
OK if you have got a bird with something obvious but otherwise a waste of money. The more poorly bird sits lopsidded, but I am not sure if its because the legs are painful.
