Coronavirus

My day off today and Mum gets a call asking if she can go for her 2nd jab this afternoon instead of 2 weeks time. Happy days, haven't got to book a day off.
A vaccine is definitely better than the disease.
I had the idiot at work going about it is all a conspiracy no one has died and the injection is just so Bill Gates can track us, via a microchip. I did offer to take him to the vets and have a chip put in him there and neutered at the same time.

Glad your mum is getting her vaccination.

This is an interesting dilemma. The comments are good as well.

Very interesting article with a lot of indications of subjection to a different culture in the background.
Cultural differences aren't necessarily extreme but can cause problems. I was born and brought up in South Wales and married an Englishman. It was many years before we realised that we had cultural differences that had been causing friction between us. One in particular that caused problems was to do with "gifts" and what the giver might expect in return which I thought at the time was a cultural difference but, with hindsight, may just have been his arrogance.
He wouldn't have vaccinations but I think that may have changed with his new partner, who is English, not that I was ever anti-vaccination per se I just didn't want the 'flu jab. Just hope my second coronavirus jab isn't delayed.

Well mum had her second jab and like the 1st no reaction whatsoever. She had virtually convinced herself that because she didn't react to the 1st one she would to the second. So she is all done and dusted, and can now keep nagging me for my next one which is June

Brilliant!
Went for my 2nd vac today wearing my new Kandinsky mask over my NHS one. The dragon at the door made me take my Kandinsky one off 'because everybody has to look the same'.

On the plus side, I have, so far, no side effects and no inflammation at the site. I'll see what I'm like tomorrow.

I had my first jab a couple of weeks ago. The following morning I felt like I'd been run over by a truck. Banging headache, aching. Lasted a few days, but paracetamol helped a bit. My second jab is not til June. Hopefully they will still have enough left ?

She'd be out of luck with me then... All of my masks were made from a shirt that my husband threw out during lockdown 1. They go through the wash & get reused. The dragon would need a sewing machine & a heck of a lot of stripy shirts to make everyone look like me :D

The "dragon at the door" was only doing her job ...

When I arrived at the first "check in"I was given a fresh disposable mask to wear. Makes sense as who knows what contamination I might have picked up on the long trek from the car park to the door. We had to wear masks outside to protect the marshalls and they might have been a queue. I don't see any problem.

It wasn't a problem, I just took my nice new mask off and wore the old NHS one I've had for 6 months.

That is weird! They should have given you a nice clean sterile mask ...

The fact that she said everyone had to look the same implies she didn't really know what she was doing.

I had a hospital checkup appointment and was given a new paper mask, which didn’t fit nearly so well as my own home made one. We wore our own to both vaccinations.
