Cheery Pics

She was a passenger not a driver - and I'm not that tall H-G! I used to dance though (still do sometimes to keep my feet and ankles strong and my knees relatively flexible!) Also the car I drove was not as exotic (or expensive!) as a Bugatti.

I guess you don't wear long floaty scarves that get caught in the cars wheels either.

Absolutely NOT! I used to have long hair and whenever I was doing anything I always had it tied back, a;though for racing for some reason I had it in two plaits.

Love it!!

Reminds me of the time I was listening to the auctioneer, the Hon Patrick Lindsay, being interviewed about an auction of planes at Duxford which included a Spitfire. The interviewer tried by every means possible to get him to say the plane he'd love to own was the Spitfire. I was in in fits of laughter waiting for the denouement - he was so polite; tried every which way to spare the interviewer then finally had to say "Well actually I already have one". He used to race vintage cars, as I did 40 years ago, and would fly in to Silverstone circuit in the Spitfire and then entertain the crowds at lunchtime with a flying display

I have probably seen you then, Margaid! Me and my ex used to go to Silverstone at about that time and my favourites were the vintage car races along with the sports cars. Who could forget "Willie Eckerslike"?

Not a name I remember from the VSCC events. What did he drive? I was racing in the mid seventies ...

Anything he wanted - he turned out to be Bernie Ecclestone! We obviously went to different events.

OH was waiting for a tall ship to come up river. She went to Tilbury to get a pic, this was the slowest ship ever i hasten to add. But whilst waiting by Tilbury Fort we looked at this boulder. We both have walked past this lots of times, and been to the fort and never glanced at it.
certainly never realised prisoners from Culloden were housed on prison ships on the Thames.
You learn something new everyday.
