The inscription is badly worn as well as having been scratched.
Here is the Blitz memorial to civilians at Wapping. OH was on another tall ship quest, having been deprived of them throughout the pandemic, they are now appearing all at once

I saw some photos from the Met Gala, and found myself feeling quite sad and sorry for those "celebrities " who need to constantly come up with new ways to grab media attention and the spotlight.
