Cheery Pics

Expensive, but then I suppose they are a lot bigger then the feathered variety. £1 a brace, in the feather here in season. I don't bother plucking etc, just remove the breast fillets and the legs. Pity none of the cats seem to like pheasant, at the moment the kittens still just want mum.

Taken yesterday, now four weeks old.

Adorable! Are you planning on keeping them all, or just some, or none? Apologies if this has already been covered. On looks I'd go for the 2 gingers, but really I think the acid test is which one is the cheekiest, I want my cats to have personality. I know somebody who got 2 12 week old kittens. Sadly, one died at about 9 months, but, no word of a lie, neither one would be petted/picked up/go outside ex cept under duress and the remaining one is getting on for 18months now. The owners are very experienced and they feel they have made some progress because the cat will now go into their bedroom to sleep on their bed...but only if neither one of them is in the room! Like all our/their cats, this pair were rescues and you really wonder what had happened to them in their short lives.

£10 for 5 plucked brace when I was growing up, more recently £5 brace (in the UK). Pheasant is never seen on menus/in butchers here, in fact I'm not sure if pheasant are native. The concept of the shoot as it is practised in the UK is unknown here, so they aren't bred in large numbers. You do sometimes see partridge on the menu as they scuttle about locally.

No decision yet on the kittens although if I keep them all I will then have 10 cats! I'll wait and see whether any of them has a strong bond with mum or develop a strong bond with me. Lily lets me pick them up and pet them for no more than a minute. This morning I moved them into a different "enclosure! which gives them sleeping space and room to move around. They are still very wobbly on their feet but seem to be enjoying the extra space One of the torties was in danger of getting up on the back of the box above; not sure if it was the one on the left or the one fourth from left. My dentist would like a ginger kitten and I know someone who would like one or both of the girls but no decisions for at least another four weeks.

Those ginger kittens are big for four weeks, Margaid. Going to be big lads!

Haven't seen any game birds for sale here as there are no big shooting estates. I don't miss them at all as they are usually tough as old boots.

      Are they doing this on purpose to make us laugh do you think?
