We've been lucky so far

At least you do not have to worry about predators over there Chris :-)08 at least 4 legged one. I asuming you will not breed this year for moving reasons.
Thanks for the 'juice' info as I did not knew you have to wait 1 week befor spreading.

Urine, human or dog, fresh or vintage, will not keep a fox away.

:lol   why not just hold a street party get even more then

Just to follow up on Chuck's comment. Urine will have no effect whatsoever on urban foxes. It does however deter wild foxes, but only during daylight hours. They are not stupid and know humans are not nocturnal. We have been using it since the first daytime fox visit (recommended by a gamekeeper of longstanding), but only along the boundary with the gap in the wall, which is only 4' at one point, 6' the rest. We've never had a fox during the daytime since, but a regular visit of a big one at night. It just walks all round the coops looking for an opening- no change of pace, because I've seen the footprints in the snow- then leaves where it came in the gap in the wall.
This attack was the result of an entry 50 yards away through a bramble, over chicken wire, down the canal bank and through the only small gap in the fence. We didn't think a fox could get through, so had only guarded against rabbits. There was no urine spread within 50 yards of that point. In Summer that was used as the 'relief' point, which may be why the attack wasn't earlier in the year.

Hi Tygrysec. You're right, we are not breeding because we are moving, but I would like to take a quartet of Black Large TNN's as well.
Keep it stewing for a week to considerably increase the smell. Fresh is very mild.

Glanced up earlier at the window, to see two young foxes frolicking in the field, you can never be complacent with foxes, I find this time of year (normally) they get that little bit braver due to their natural food supply being a bit more difficult to find.

I am going to repeat what I said in case anyone thinks to rely on urine as a deterrent - it does not work !!!!!!

I agree, I rely on 9,000volts going through my perimeter electric fence :-)17

ohh i would not want to risk that   nor pee on it ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i have heard many stories about people peeing on leccy fencing and regretting it mainly from fisherman :-)05

Yep, happened to one of my dad's carping buddies....supposedly. never can tell with anglers:mrgreen:

now that is so true , my ex almost done it while out fishing but suddenly noticed the fence and stopped dead in his tracks but i heard a radio dj saying he done years ago and i spent the whole day laughing about it .

When we go " hedgerowing" in the autumn, dad says there are two "pee heights" to.worry about, Alsatian height, and angler height...uuur Yuck.

I was scratching my head about angler height..and then thought aren't they prone to exaggeration? :-)05

We'd go for electrification along the top of the walls but have only got battery power in the Orchard. We have a big fence unit but it was to keep the sheep out of the veggy plot and was only turned on occasionally to remind them to stay off. Might be worth some more thought. The walls are too old and crumbly to drill in to but I could make some saddles to take one conductor and an earth, to ensure a full 8000V to the single conductor.

what about posts put in close to the wall then the plastic clips used for leccy fencing screwed into them just a thought .
