Hi All
First post as Im a newcomer to this forum. I was looking at some Toulouse in the Midlands last week and the owner told me about Exhibition Toulouse which are white :o

Im aware of the Buff colour but can find no images on the web of a White. Has anyone got more information?

Hello and welcome to the forum Pete :)
There are no white toulouse in the uk as far as i am aware- Buffs are very rare as well ( been looking for years). The only standard colours are grey, buff and white. I do have a pair of lavenders (as well as 8 pairs of greys) which are bred from steinbachers ( hence the colour) although good type and shape, good dewlap and keel they are a little small so need to be increased in size.
regards, David :)

Hi David
Thanks for the reply. I've heard the Buffs are scarce and slower to develop than the Greys. As for a White Toulouse I cant even find a photograph on the web!

Your Lavanders sound very nice David. Have you any pictures of them? I did finally come across an old photo from the USA of some White with Grey Toulouse.

Here is one of the goose from last year-she was only about 10 months in this pic- i will need to take some recent ones of them- they have filled out now that they are coming two year olds

Oh they're really really nice. Is the bird in foreground a lilac and the one behind a blue? So hard to tell with photos. Thanks for posting the picture of them,

Hello, the bird in the pic is lavender- the other a normal grey- here is another pic in the late summer- they are looking rather raggy!! before the moult  hope you can see the difference now :)

hi David
Thats much clearer and the Lavander looks even better. Lovely soft colouration and makes the bird stand out from your flock. Did I read that you have Buffs?

yes they're a bit hard to locate. An old friend had a pair in north essex about 5 years ago but he had no luck with the eggs. He died last year and I dont know what happened to that pair.

Hi David
They are lovely birds. Do let me know if you have any youngsters for sale when you get them.

Hi Sue, they were from eggs i bought a few years ago- they are good "type" but small- i only have the one pair and I really should split them to bigger grey birds but they are a true pair and keep themselves to themselves so i have just left them together- no goslings last year as they were young and i didn't incubate any of her eggs, but should have some this year.
Pete, if i get any lavenders i will let you know- i always have plenty of grey goslings but they haven't started laying yet- my birds dont normally lay until the end of feb/start of March.
regards, David :)

Hi David
Yes same here at the moment. The best gander is getting very feisty and starting to tread but no eggs yet from the greys. Our old male is giving the younger gander a bit of stick so time to split them up and let them concentrate on breeding now. Weather forcast looks better for beginning of March so that should help move things along ;-)
