sorry for the abbreviations ;)

our flock have just had wormer and a course of Baytril antibiotic, after losing several hens and quail chicks to possible coccidiosis.... possible gapeworm

they are alot perkier, and I have bought some apple cider vinegar to try and keep them them perky

when do you think I should start giving them this? and how much / how often? I dont want to over-do their systems, and they will back on Verm X now the nasty chemical wormer has done its job (I hope!)

thanks in advance :)

I feed mine well with lots of greens, some free range and give them layers pellets ad-lib. I give them ACV in their water once a month or when sick / stressed etc. There is some information on ACV in the Chickens FAQ

There are several vitamin / mineral drinks you can use too.

I also crush a few cloves of fresh garlic into their water to give them a boost but if you overdo it, they say you end up with garlic tasting eggs :-)05 Personally I've never found this and I've used quite a bit from time to time.

Hi Blue, I use a crushed garlic clove and also apple cider vinegar, might be worth checking the ph of your water supply.. ACV changes the acidity of the gut and therefore less attractive enviroment for parasites. If you have a suspicion of cocci then I have found Stalosan F very effective in the henhouse. I also use garlic, unlike Tim I once went a bit OTT and definately could taste the garlic from my ladies!! :D
