I'm in Nottinghamshire. I just posted in the "Dustbath", as we have had rain for the past few hours, first time in weeks... the hens were not too keen though :-)

That's so sad, losing some of your hens. I must admit, I have been concerned about mine during this heatwave, but they have been making good use of the big shrubs in the garden :-) and I have ensured there are little water pots everywhere.

I tell you what I bought as a covered dustbath... I saw a plastic child's playhouse/wendyhouse, like the Little Tykes ones, and I put that in the corner of their outdoor pen, so they can shelter from rain, or go in for shade, or to dig. I covered up the windows with roofing felt, so it is water tight. I got it for £10 from someone selling on Gumtree. Bargain!!

So sorry you lost one newbie. Ours go under a big laurel bush in the garden with pots of water nearby, I am sure they would like me to peel grapes and pass onto them whilst they laze, but dream on girls !
Nice set up Tweetypie and what a bargain
