Hi, I have an Indian runner drake who has just started bullying everything in sight in particular my Campbell drake who has now been left with a nasty limp. He is also picking on the female ducks and hens the only One he won't attack is my RIR cockeral. Is this normal behaviour since it is nearly spring or is he just a nasty duck. I have had him and his mate for about six months but this is the first sign of him behaving like this. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks :-)19

hello, some drakes can be very nasty-especially in the spring- the only thing you can do is to keep him separate with some ducks- no other drakes or chickens. He will only get worse as thr season goes on,
regards, David :)

Agree with Davidd, drakes aren't being vicious, it is in their nature, as they are a very active breed. They do get rather frisky and can be a pain. I have lots of runners, and it helps to have plenty of space and a high ratio of ducks to drakes.
I have muscovies too, the drake keeps the runner drakes in check, the muscovy girls mean it when they say "no" and it is not unusual to see a runner drake with his tail between his legs being hotly pursued by an indignant muscovy duck.
ps: valentines day is the day that ducks are supposed to come into lay! ;) :D

Thanks folks, I think I will separate him and his mate and get him a few more ladies of his own
