Just to let everyone know, we had our four girls delivered yesterday afternoon and settled them into their new home, kept them in their run and coop all day today and after i finished work today i had a wee sneaky look into the coop and there they were one in a nesting box which had been emptied and an egg left and then in the corner of the coop next to their perches i found another!! Two in the first 24hrs!
Is it quite normal for them not to be laying in the nesting boxes? The nest box with the egg in it had all the straw and sawdust removed first? :?
One large light coloured egg with tiny white speckles and then a smaller light brown egg, how do you learn which chook lays which type of egg? We have a Rhode Rock, Speckeldy, Sussex Ranger and a Blue Ranger?
Thanx in advance for your knowledge everyone
