Electric netting advice please

I need to do a temporary fix as in a couple of places the netting sags on to the ground - which is quite uneven anyway. I know the sections where it clicks so I'm going to put cable ties loosely around a couple of the horizontal wires to effectively reduce the height/pull it up a bit. I think I need to get more poles - they aren't very evenly spaced and it is the longer sections that sag to the ground.

As I mentioned earlier Margaid, we bought a complete extra set of poles so that the spacing was halved and then pulled the net tight towards wooden stakes in the ground. Our net was in a straight line though -just kept the sheep off the veggy plot. Couldn't use the stakes if the net was in a curve.

A question for the experts!

I am now getting about 4000 - 5000v on my electric netting - having replaced on section. However because of the snow I checked after a couple of hours of snow and it was down to 2000. So I shaked the net to remove some of the snow at the bottom, and the voltage went up to 7000! I've never managed 7000 before. Any explanations?

:D :D :D

The earth circuit is good with snow on the ground Sally. So that may be the root of your problems. Poor earthing is costing you 2 - 3000V. So having removed the net shorting out issue next job is more earth stakes.
