Hi, I feel so sorry for my 6 week old babys ha, were inside in this cold windy weather and the duckies are outside fallin askeet snuggled up, I can't help but think they will be cold, am I right or totally wrong aha ,
If they are fully feathered then no they don't get cold. However they do need to be protected from the wind so make sure there is a wind break they can get behind, even it it is a couple of bales.
In the winter be cautious of them swimming then getting iced to the snow if the conditions are freezing.
Heat is much more of a problem for ducks.

Ahh rite ok thanks,I do notice when it was windy last day or so they stand facing into wind and if they move on diff angle they get blown All over , aww
mine have been laying down so wind goes over them which they never done in summer.
the babies are still coming in the house with molly but the older ducklings (fully feathered) are in duck house with the grown up ducks. ducks do much better in the cold weather than the chickens. iv not had an ill duck so far unlike the chickens
