Truly amazing what dogs can do.

I think dogs have been trained some years ago to warn epileptics that a fit is impending allowing them to get into a safe environment.

I think they detect low sugar levels in Type 1 Diabetics plus a few other conditions. The only problem seems to be the length of time (and money) needed to train them.

When you see the blue and silver buses in the Coronavirus Government adverts, it's me driving them

I have driven a vintage bus in Call the Midwife, and the biopic about The Queen and Princess Margaret partying on VE day and getting on a bus, I was the driver in that.
But no equity card yet.

I'll be watching out for the blue & silver buses & looking for the driver from now on...

You've done well there Marigold, as I think this program is going to be rolled out a lot slower than had been envisaged. Are you having it at your GP or a Vax centre?. They certainly need to speed up because if they keep on at their current rate it would take them 19 years to vaccinate the whole population and 7 years to vaccinate the at risk groups!.

It takes about 8 minutes apparently, plus 15 minutes waiting time. I was reading in the Wall St Journal that they are paying GP's £12.58 per vaccination but only after they have administered the second injection and only if they manage to get rid of 97% of their doses, which have to be given within 3 days of receiving them or they will spoil. If they fail on this target they don't get paid for all the jabs they've given. That, plus the extra waiting time means a number of GP surgeries have pulled out of the program as they just won't be able to manage to give the amount of doses needed.

Our appointments are, appropriately enough, at the Holiday Inn, Winchester, about 15 miles from Whitchurch where we live. The Inn must be very glad to hire their premises if not able to open normally for business. We're both booked in for the second go three weeks later as well.
Now we’ll be able to book a holiday cottage for the Spring! Whoopee!

Well we went into tier 3 today, utterly pointless. While it makes no difference at all to how I am living i just don't really see the logic in it at all. No evidence at all that the spread of the virus is coming from pubs and restaurants, yet they are forced to shut, probably for good this time. Meanwhile hairdressers and gyms stay open and you can rub shoulders with people as from as many households as you like, providing both you and they are being paid a wage to do it.

All you have to do to circumvent the rules is employ a friend or family member to come round to clean your house/fix your plumbing/paint your wall and you are "golden". Or find someone who owns a business and get them to throw a party under the title of "business seminar" a la Tobias Ellwood. Or does this only work for the "great and the good"?

   Good one
Well done on your appointments next week Marigold. A friend of ours had their first one on Sunday evening.

One of our friends had it two days ago. Said they had to sit for 15 minutes afterwards in case they fainted, and this was in a huge marquee, out doors with no heating. Bad headache overnight and very sore arm. As ours is on Dec. 23, maybe it’s just as well we'll be home alone together for Christmas!
Still, holiday cottage booked - in May on Exmoor - the only date left for this cottage until next October. All us oldies are getting on and booking, now there’s a bit of hope that we shall actually make it.
