Watched it on your FB page, and I'm going to share. Just who does he think he is? This government has wasted so much money this year on Corvid-19 cock ups and Brexit "planning".

What on earth is going on ????????? Those poor students.

We've got new restrictions since last night. No visits allowed to houses or gardens. However, you can sit at a table outside a pub with six other people, beside other tables of six people, and be served by staff who are moving from table to table..... But, you can't have even one family visitor to sit outside in your own garden. I do realise they are trying to stop the house parties which have fuelled our surge, but wouldn't it make more sense to give the police power to actually do something about the parties? Or to clamp down hard on supermarkets selling vast quantities of cut price booze?? But no. The Govt. are losing the people now.

I don't understand people who willingly put themselves (and everyone else they come into contact with) in danger. Did you see those scenes from Liverpool the other night? I'm staying well away from pubs/restaurants for the time being. Our local pub/restaurant is shut but Geraldine does take-away meals Friday and Saturday evening - you wait in the car park and she brings the food out. Our local shop has opened but not the attached cafe or hostel. People are taking it seriously here.

The people who don't take it seriously seem not to care about the knock-on effects for others. For example, the cancellation of crucial hospital treatments meaning that others are left in crippling pain or with untreated heart conditions, kidney stones, unmonitored diabetes etc.

I'd impose the maximum permitted fines to everyone who breaks the rules & use the money to fund extra intensive care wards to allow "routine" surgery to continue, giving quality of life back to responsible people who're waiting for treatment.

Spot on Icemaiden. Unfortunately the rule of law seems to have disappeared entirely as far as Covid is concerned. No one can tell me that those pubs with hundreds of people outside immediately post lockdown couldn't have had their licenses removed for instance. I have just seen that the SNP MP Margaret Ferrier will face no police action which says it all really, if they won't fine her they shouldn't be fining anybody.

And Dominic Cummings comes out tops again, fancy that.

No surprises there then!

It's not as if the government don't need the money... How many nurses could that council tax have paid, or for how long could it have kept a homeless person off the streets?

Teflon Dom comes to mind." Off with his head" He really is a slimy oik.

So we are under tier 2 from midnight in Havering, and also Essex, but Thurrock also part of Essex where I work, being a unitary authority isn't going to join in in spite of a high number of cases.
Just been in Tesco and once again virtually no masks being warn, no one at the entrance to store, no sanitiser anywhere. Of the people with masks a lot have them under their nose. Or pull them down to talk to a friend.
