Coronavirus

That first one reminded me that I hadn't emptied the washing machine. (not 6 days thankfully!)

I made kimchi once. It was weird, in that it tasted awful, and my whole face would crinkle up, but I couldn't stop eating it.

One of our localish rural pubs posted this on FB. It's brilliant. Just been outside to clap.

I saw it on a Tall Ships website, and thought it was brilliant also

This is definitely a case of Mother knows best, and he should have listened to her

Definitely should have listened to mum!

JUst saw this on the BBC News website https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-52426051

Basically the couple had driven 300 miles from Kent to Falmouth and were spotted sleeping in their car by local police. As well as spot fines, the car was seized because the driver had no insurance or driving licence!!!!! How do they get away with it????

To cap it all, Kent is surrounded by coast to the north, east & south. Why go to Cornwall???

Same as the couple who drove from London to Llanberis to climb Snowdon as they were bored and reckoned it was part of their daily exercise. Or the Porsche driver near Wrexham who wanted to drive her car around Wales, she had no road tax or insurance either.
At least we are sensible enough to have cancelled our Wales trip in May.
You just know this is the sort of people the virus should be removing from the planet, but they will come through it unscathed

There’s a couple here who had a holiday booked in the USA on one of those ‘dude ranches’. They’re both keen horse types. Many folk have had to change their plans. The real question is how long this is going to last.

Sail Amsterdam which we were going to has been cancelled, several people said " oh you could still go, Amsterdam is nice" but we have no idea if travel will be allowed by August, or if anywhere would be open when we got there. So might as well cancel it now.
We will make sure we enjoy Sail Amsterdam 2025 even more.

Not sure if posting this is allowed, but I am utterly appalled at the way the Covid-19 pandemic has been handled by the government. We're still not testing people arriving in this country or making them self-quarantine. Please sign if you agree.

This petition is actually a call for a Public Enquiry into the conduct of the UK's response to the pandemic. Worth a look even if you don't sign it. I've signed.

Public enquiry, shortcomings identified, ‘we have listened to the people and learnt from the experience but we based our decisions on the best scientific advice’.
Cost to the public purse, enormous at a time when funds and political focus need to be used as effectively as possible.
Let’s not fiddle while Rome burns!
