Unicef have a campaign running called "Get a vaccine, give a vaccine" asking people who have been vaccinated to donate towards vaccination in third world countries.Marigold said:Yes - it would be good if the world worked like that, wouldn’t it? But on the other hand, if you have the jab when it’s offered, it will benefit not only you, but your family and community, and if you don’t take it, it won’t go to Africa instead, will it? Maybe there is an aid programme we could send the price of a vaccination to, in gratitude for getting it free ourselves?
As it happens, I was with my gp recently for routine stuff, and she said there's an insane number and variety of respiratory bugs going the rounds, and they're hitting harder, because we didn't encounter anything much last year.MrsBiscuit said:Yes, you feel very 'alive' with super clear sinuses don't you after a test! Both my mother and I had the same reaction which was to lean backwards in the chair to try to escape...
The received wisdom is that there are a lot more colds/flu about this year as most of us escaped them last year, both my mother and I can testify to this, we've both had nasty bugs although we live in different countries, along with another friend who was so ill he really did think he had covid, although luckily he didn't.
I know - but somebody's got to step up and do it! [emoji23]Icemaiden said:The sacrifices you have to make, Lady A![]()
No mincemeat there? It's quite easy to make. I don't make my own mincemeat, because you end up with vast quantities.MrsBiscuit said:I hope you feel better soon LadyA - it sounds really nasty.
Boy, do I miss mince pies!
