Coronavirus

Yesterday, on Facebook, parents were complaining that they did not want to send their children back to school as they would not be allowed to play with their friends or get a hug from the teacher, if they fell over, for example! Also, that the classrooms,where desks were seperated so each child could have distance between each other, was allegedly going to be like a prison camp and it was unsafe.

Some of these parents (some I personally know from work), are the same ones who only last week were complaining that their children were suffering because they were unable to go to school and who are the same parents who are desperate to get their false eyelashes done, hair styled, nail extensions, eyebrows jigged to look like caterpillars and to be able to go back to the pub!!!

And I dare say that if Boris announced all pubs can reopen this weekend, these parents would be the first in the beer garden with their children. ;-)
 
'More or Less' on Radio 4 this morning was funny. Every week they have been taking apart government figures - like testing and how they have been counting them as done when they are posted out. I liked the bit when the researcher had received one in the post and it involved wiping your tonsils with the swab and then sticking it up your nose!
That was followed by a study on the intelligence of parrots and their ability to assess abstract probability. Turns out they are very good at it!
 
Or like someone I work with who had a hairdresser friend round, and said if anyone or their wives want to come round to my house she will do them as well, adding but don't tell everyone as she isn't supposed to being doing hair at the moment.

My sister (in Wales) was contacted by her hairdresser to say she was starting to see clients. One at a time, half an hour between appointments to clean but Wales is more locked down than England! Sister is tempted because she likes her hair really short but she Facetimes friends and one of them will really scold her if she has it cut. I told my sister to use he dowsing pendulum to see whether it would be wise to go. Hope it says no!
 
We have a friend who lives in Holme on the North Norfolk coast, as the car parks are all closed along the coast, and people are being warned not to use the coast, not only for their own safety but due also to the large number of birds and other wildlife that has taken advantage of the lockdown and are nesting in the dunes and on beaches. The nature reserves are all closed.

Yesterday the villagers of Holme and other villages along coast had their lanes blocked with day trippers cars, and people knocking on doors asking to park on their drives :-)19 :-)19 One even said to our friend "well I don't see why not as you are not allowed out"

The beaches and dunes were full of loose dogs and kids running amok

Then a group of photographers were caught on a nature reserve having climbed a barrier waded through a pool to snap Little Ringed Plover chicks.

What is wrong with these people
 
They are using the commonsense Johnson thinks they have. Errr, if your friend wasn't allowed out why was the visitor there? :-)19 :-)19

The stress of all this coronavirus is hugely exaggerated by the attention seekers. This view is not due to the large G and T I’ve just drunk while cooking my tea. But just in case it is I’ll have a large red wine when I eat!
And it would be churlish not to have a brandy with my coffee.

A group of Mancunians were stopped at Southend on Sea yesterday and the excuse given was " the Welsh won't let us into Wales so we had to come here" Even I can think of several places nearer to Manchester than Southend. A friend sent an article from the Eastern daily Press showing Hunstanton and Holme absolutely packed, then pics of Cromer and Great Yarmouth totally deserted.
That sounds a grand scheme Hen-Gen, especially as I spoke too soon, I am now having trouble with EON who can't quite grasp the concept of me wanting me to change the bill to mums name, they want dad to pay the bill first before they change it. Slightly tricky, I was tempted to take a pic of the coffin in the grave to send to them. perhaps the person was on the beach talking to me, seemed that sort of mentality

All funerals are strange, and this one must have been more memorable than most. Not what you would have wanted for him, I’m sure.

Yesterday, I had to go to the village. Although there were cars parked along the street where the mini markets and chemist are, I was glad to see that the beach was deserted apart from about two people walking dogs. I think there were more on the Cliff Walk, because for now, we are allowed to take exercise within 5km of home (increased from 2km), but we're not supposed to spend time sitting around sunbathing in public areas.
 
It's been mentioned on the news for the last couple of days that supermarket alcohol sales have increased during the lockdown. Reporters sound surprised by this.

Hmm. Could it have anything to do with all of the pubs, wine bars & restaurants bring closed perhaps?

I'm off to the chemist today, to get something for my hayfever! I started sneezing yesterday, and I actually feel like I have the plague going out! Even though sneezing is not a symptom of the coronavirus.
 
Today I’m in bed, shivery, with a temperature climbing to40C, waiting for a call back from 111 online doctor. So may not be online here for a while. Hope you’re all OK. xx
