Cheery Pics

This looks a good game for Margaid and her cats.

I saw that. I have to admit we did once spend hours watching my SIL's cat watching a game that involved fish floating across the screen. She was mesmerised and got her little paw out from time to time to bat them.

The only interest my cats show in technology is walking across or sitting on the keyboard. Occasionally one of them will react if they hear a cat meow on screen. The funniest thing was with my previous cats: I was sorting through some music when I cam across my copy of Rossini's Cat Duet - the "libretto" being entirely made up of "Meows". So I started singing which didn't bother them at all until I decide to make "pre-fight" snarls, at which point the three of them fled the kitchen!

We had a cat that was fascinated by elephants on the screen and would go up and paw at them, then walk behind to hunt them out

One brave cat! One of ours quite liked the horse racing. Interesting about the music Margaid, we can clear the room in an instant if we start singing (we can't hold a tune). Actually given half a chance it wouldn't just be the cats who left!

Normal singing was OK. I didn't realise I could imitate the pre-fight warning and fighting snarls so well!

Absolutely amazing, the way that in all the photos, there’s always a branch, a goalpost, or a football in the crucial places!
And all those beautiful, fit, tanned bodies, despite what they say about naturism being fir everybody!

No nettles about either.

We have had the Sunday middle aged men in Lycra (MAMIL) puffing past on their bikes

We went up to London to see the Swedish East Indiaman Gotheborg pausing in London on her round the world trip.

She had to lower the top of her masts so she didn't collide with the walkway across Tower Bridge, happily they were back and pennants flying when she entered West India Dock, with crew in 18th century dress, and singing sea shanties. She had a beautiful stern complete with carved cockerels

Perhaps I will ask them if they would like to, we have a tour booked on her Wednesday

Lucky you! She's beautiful.

I'm not going anywhere at the moment as one of y cats has damaged a ligament in her "wrist" so is on 6 weeks cage rest. Two cages end to end have given her en-suite accommodation but I need to check to make sure she hasn't got her splint caught up somehow and it's going to be HOT so may need the fan-blowing-over-a-bowl-of-ice cubes trick to keep her cool.

Magnificent sight as she goes through Tower Bridge; its quite elemental isn't it, a great bridge and a great vessel.

Oh dear, poor girl. I hope she appreciates all your efforts, Margaid. How did she do it?

No idea. She came in limping and putting the back of her paw to the ground, rather like us going on hands and knees using the back of the hand. She is fairly good but I do get her out to lie on my bed - there's room for her to stretch out in the crate but she insists on sleeping in the litter tray! NOT the one she uses - that's in the second crate backed up to the first. I put a light harness on her this afternoon - not to go anywhere but to see her reaction as other cats I've tried it on go frantic and walk backwards. She didn't turn a hair! So that may be useful when I can allow her a little more freedom.

The most problematical thing is drinking as she likes to drink from the kitchen tap which has a chlorine filter. I've worked out a way for her to do that but she wasn't interested this morning. She has water and cat milk available but it's difficult to tell how much she drinks. Only potentially another 36 days to go!
