Do you think this is a personalised number plate? If so,I wonder what significance those numbers have, and why they’re memorable?
I find it terribly difficult to remember strings of numbers. We’ve had our present car for about ten years and I still have to go through a complicated mental mnemonic if asked for its number. It’s BD57TJZ. I only got there by remembering B for Beryl (mother-in-laws name); D for Tony’s dad, (my f.I.L:) 57 for the year Tony and I met whilst still at school; T for Tony, J for Jennifer, (first daughters second name;) and Z for Zelda, (granddaughters second name.)
I suppose customised number plates are at least easy to remember. Our other daughter, Cassandra Jackson, was given CA55 JAX as a birthday present a while ago. Does anyone know if you can pass it on to your next car, and also what happens to the old number if you already have that attached to your vehicle?

It's what they call a "Cherished number" and you can transfer it to your next car. The car's original number is reinstated so it's useful to keep the old number plates. I don't know the exact mechanism but I know it can be done. My sister bought her son and his wife "personalized" numbers and they are now on totally different vehicles.

Number plates here go by the year of the car and whether it was first registered in the first or second half of that year - so cars new this year up to June would have Number plate beginning 221. The rest of the year will begin 222. Then the letter(s) denoting what county the car is registered in - D for Dublin, for example or KY for Kerry, as opposed to KE for Kildare. And then the last series of numbers, how many cars were registered in this area, in this time period. So, eg, 221 D 1067 would indicate that this car was new in the first half of 2022, was registered in Dublin, and was the 1,067th car registered in Dublin in the first half of this year.

Now I think I'm getting Schrodinger muddled up with Heisenberg. (Perhaps I've put them in the same box???)
