Few pics of RNOV Shabab Oman leaving West India Dock yesterday. The flagship of the Omani navy, currently on a world tour including participating in the Tall Ships races.

Had a wonderful tour of her on the Sunday, complete with bagpipe playing sailors, a big tradition in Oman apparently. With some of the male and female crew dancing energetically.

Slightly surreal hearing them piping " what shall we do with the drunken sailor", as they left. With the ratings all in ceremonial Omani dress code.

She is leaving in the last pic, the tug elected to take her through the dock stern first.

Nice selection of Oligarchs impounded gin palaces in various docks up there also.

One of the floating gin palaces, was chock full of drugs apparently, destined for the streets. Wonder how many times that had been back and forth without any sort of customs search

But our fresh food has to queue up at Dover. This Govt has no moral compass at all.

Absolutely, it was all packages of heroin and meth amphetamine.

Another one impounded up there, has shark skin wall paper, how awful is that.
There is a solid gold dining table as well.
If they go up for sale we must go and have a look. Not sure we look like the sort of people who can afford these.

You can't always judge by appearances. The chap who used to own Chilham castle dressed in very ordinary clothes most of the time & drove a very beaten up old banger. He didn't look like someone who could've bought a super yacht if he'd wanted to...

Our neighbour is like that, not only did she inherit the farm as an only child, but she also came into money and property from some aunt and uncles who all died childless. But she drives an old Ford, and wears good practical farm clothes at all times. She always says why buy an expensive or new car when the one you have does the job. You can carry a bale of straw or animal in anything, they don't care what it is
