Cheery Pics

Thanks, I had double pneumonia many moons ago and learnt to cross stitch whilst convalescing. I will make sure to get a photo next time I start one

A couple of very good friends on here, knowing that I'm nearly at the end of the long steep road I've had to travel the last seven years sent me these today. I've met them once although I hope to meet up with them again.

To me, this is a big part of what the forum is about. Although I haven't had any hens for seven years, I've stayed with the forum and at times just reading the "chat" and occasionally joining in has been a life saver.

I'm naming no names but thought you might all like to be cheered up by their generosity and support.

Aw, how very lovely, Margaid. It's lovely, especially in these weird times we're living through, to have such a show of support.

Friends, this forum, the osprey live stream cameras and my cats have helped more than I can say. There is canal tunnel near Chirk where at first you can't see the light at the end because the tunnel is so long. For me I think the light is going to appear in the next few weeks. :-)08

You must have delicate 'lady' hands then - I can't imagine using a tapestry needle with a bunch of sausages! :D

Yes I have very long delicate fingers and feet, in spite of being 6ft 2ins. used to work with a woman who had hands like giant hams, but she made the most amazing delicate pastry of all types

I have been to Chirk and walked across the viaduct and seen the tunnel. Nowhere near as scary as the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct to walk across.
This pic is guaranteed to cheer everyone up, OH got it from Threave Ospreys twitter page, it was entitled " I don't do Mondays"

Those of us who have seen you bravely working your way along a very lonely road will know how tenaciously you have clung on to your independence, Margaid. I’d forgotten how many times I’ve said ‘I hope it will all be sorted out in the next year’ .... has it really been seven of them? I hope the burden will be lifted very soon.
I’ve been through that tunnel in a boat, hoping the engine wouldn’t die in the middle, because then we would have had to leg it along with our feet on the sides of the tunnel, like the boatmen had to in the olden days. Very dark and frightening - but what a relief when you get back to the sunshine. Good luck, you have so many friends who care for you.

The Pontcysyllte aqueduct was on my bucket list and some boating friends learnt about it just as they were about to move their boat to a different canal system. So it was a quick dash to Ellesmere marina to meet up on Saturday morning, on the understanding that it was up to the aqueduct, cross it, turn round and head back to Ellesmere by Sunday afternoon. I think the Chirk aqueduct is prettier BYM but standing at the stern of a narrow boat, basically on a platform with no barrier six inches above the water and then realising that you're just above the rim of the trough holding the water and there's no barrier there either is very scary. Magnificent though and I'm glad I did it!
Support sometimes comes from the most unexpected quarters and I am lucky with my friends even though most of them are geographically distant. Not sure if everything will be done and dusted before the year end because of Covid-19, but certainly by the spring. Then it will be off to see the ospreys!

I'm glad you're making your way through the tunnel Margaid...
However dark & difficult it gets, don't turn off the engine (metaphorically or literally)... until you're out in the daylight on the other side.

I saw a really nice jersey online.
Specifics for the item were vague, so I emailed the firm.

‘Please could you tell me what material this is made from?
The website just says ‘knitted,’ which is a process, not a type of yarn!
Thank you.”

Got my answer this morning.

‘Hi.
Be note: Knitted fabric is a textile that results from knitting.

If there is any issue, please contact us.

Best regards,
Cecilia’

If you decide to watch this, make sure you aren't drinking anything particularly towards the end of the clip!!

I do all I can by way of recycling, and it's nice to know others are having fun, but there are limits....

Wonder if his school report said he showed initiative.
This is recycling on another level
