Hi ,I just discovered that my Salmon Faveroles has a bumble foot-just beginning of this condition.Al info sugest to pierce and sqeeze out the puss, but on my bird there is nothing to sqeeze yet. There is a black scabs on both feet but this do not stick out much. She was walking funny so i had check her feet what was going wrong.I'm also thing she just started her moult as loosing some feathers and she had stop laing 2 weeks ago.Is there is anything like cream I could use without removing scabs or do i need to remove them first.I had check others feet and non of my birds have it.
I had found great info on that but there are very severve cases. http://forum.backyardpoultry.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7983344

They don't necessarily develop to the Bumble Foot condition Tygrysek. Sometimes the chicken's own immune system handles it. It is just pad damage that has weeped a bit and dried. So I would leave it completely and just keep a close eye on it. Important to find out how the BF was caused though. Sharp bits in the run, perches too high or something else?

There is few posibilities, but I do not wanna wait until late as she having those on both feet and 2 on each. She has a cut on one of the foot and this could happened in many places in my garden as they tend to go in to the roses, brambles and so on.As we have more rain than usuall I going to move her to completly dry place and keep her until healed.

Sounds a good idea Tygrysek. If the scabs keep getting wet and opening up there is a chance of a fungal infection getting in as ours had.

I was thinkig of it but the space is very small where she is and all others still laing. There are the pictures of her condition.20120715_99_6.jpg20120715_99_9.jpg20120715_99_10.jpg

Not impact damage then Tygrysek. She's trodden on something that has punctured her foot or scratched something up. We get ours digging up nails and glass in the soil.

Lots of new things there for us,we always put it down
to having perches to high. But like others say,I suppose it
can happen with them digging. But we will still keep perches
low.Thank's.
