Cracking job Castara -or should I say 'crackless' job? Yes they do eat those. A chickens' beak is a powerful weapon!

I think I've come up with a workable solution to the sliding vent system I wanted , Found this 90 deg Ali stuff at B n Q.

Love the vents,so clever of you.How big they are,are rat is able to squeeze thru 'total eclipse',will you put some wire net to stop them getting inn?
Just went 1 page back and got my answer :-)08 all will be surronded by wire mesh :-)17

Cheers mate lets hope it works when I stick it all together. As for rats the'll get into the run if they want, so i reckon 38 mm ,bit tight for a rat , it would defiantly use it as a starting point and gnaw away , but would take some time. mouse no problem but hey , thats the mouses lookout , I.m more worried about our resident Stag beatles flyin in. It could get messy

Good idea Castara -wooden runners are time consuming to make and very bulky looking. I've used the plastic angles before now but I then slit them into two flats with a sharp knife and tacked them onto the back of wooden runners to make channels. The flats in the store were the same price as the angle, so I did the job for half the price!
