I'm so angry and upset
a bloody fox dug his way into one of our pens and killed all my faverolles and the egyptian geese, he then dug his way from that pen into the cream legbar pen but luckily didn't bother with the birds in there, just dug his way out of that pen :|
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I am so sorry :( are the legbars all alright as the stress can do so much damage too.
I know losing one is heartbreaking but to lose most of your precious birds must be awful, well words cannot describe how I would feel.

I am thinking of you at this sad time for you :(

Oh what a terrible thing to happen. I really feel for you.

What on earth do we have to do to keep our birds safe from these menaces.

Hi, sorry to hear about your loss GR :(
Hope you catch the fox because, unfortunately he will be back :( Try to lock your birds up in secure houses every night for a little while until you can catch him.
regards, David

Oh how terrible! Feel absolutely gutted for you.
Only wish I had favorelles so I could send you eggs like you so kindly did for me.

So sorry, it must be heartbreaking for you. There do seem to be so many fox attacks at present, several recently on the forum and I also heard of one near me yesterday where the fox tore the side off the coop to get in.

thanx everyone we have had a gun waiting him or her every night  since but no visitation yet and everything is on lockdown now, trouble is we don't live on the site that these chickens are kept

So sorry to hear about your loss. Although we live in a village, where we are is quite residential so I hope we don't get bothered by any foxes.

Unfortunately, there are many urban foxes too so I wouldn't take any chances. For example, during the formation of the Government, the Cameras were waiting outside number 10 and they were showing the foxes walking along Downing Street in the early hours...

I live on the edge of a so called rural town (used to be very rural years ago but now sprawling urbanisation). We have a fox regularly visit our garden. During the snow his footprints made the same path most nights. I lost my first flock to him or one of his mates. Now all are secured in a run & I still close them up each night in their house too.

A friend saw a fox chase a cat over her garden wall (nearly 6ft) going full pelt after the poor thing & that was in a built up part of town.

We just can't relax on this foxy business. :x

The hens are locked up at night and when they are out in the garden there are usually people around. But I will keep an eye for any signs of foxes. Thanks
