my friend who i introducded to chooks texted me today and over a course of a hour (not sure why she did'nt ring) i got some symptoms out of her but still confused.
(as i lost a hen to something stuck in her throat last week) so anyway after much texting and my 'ideas' if what it was
12
lol (i'll be in brackets)
hen was sat in corner and quiet with slow movement (broody) no i dont think so
runny poo (is it big) no green and very runny (yuk too much grass) no they been on grass for a week
(eating or gaping) both (wormed?) january
(could be sour crop, something stuck or compacted crop) off she toddles to see chooks, crop is empty..BUT shes got wet beak, dribbling( don't bring it here)
back to normal- if it was a pigeon it would be canker or a enteritis type bug. i told her to split her off (as half her flock are vaccinated warrens and this is a light sussex thats ill) i did suggest bio yogurt and re worming her again but its hard as it bank holiday weekend and us been hardened farmers (ok so i may take mine to vets-but not all do)
any other ideas? she said its eating now
