OH did manage to strike up a conversation via Twitter with the Strikemaster display pilot. it was after she took some really good pics of it going over the house when it is based at North Weald for airshows, plus a good video of the display at Eastbourne, and now he makes sure to go over the house. great for getting the hens inside, and he gives us advance warning. Possibly the only plane with a stalker
We are lucky in living on a direct flight path between Duxford-North Weald-Biggin Hill-Headcorn, which helps with heritage planes, especially Spitfires and Sally-B. We just miss Royal Flypasts, we have to pop up to town for that

Oh lordy! My Very Posh Outfit from when I was about 11 or 12! Mum was a dressmaker and made the matching dress & coat, which had a deep scalloped edge down the front. Unfortunately, I had a growth spurt immediately she'd finished the outfit, so it was short in the sleeves and hemline - even for about 1972! And that hat, though!! ?20230620_103106.jpg

We had a hotplate experience on Friday at the Bluebell Railway where we got to go in the cab of the Flying Scotsman, and walk through the narrow passage that runs along the inside of the coal tender. To see her up close and personal was a real treat, we have seen her in motion as well. Had a great day going up and down on some of the other heritage trains on the line, and visiting the carriage workshops and museum.P1090251.JPGP1090220 (1).JPGP1090220 (1).JPGP1090224.JPGP1090221 (1).JPG

I didn't realise how long a coal tender was!
