In the news here today, it's reported that on the streets of Dublin, an armed police unit lost a sub machine gun when, somehow, the boot of their car popped open as they were driving! A bag, containing the gun and "hundreds" of rounds of ammunition fell out onto the street. It didn't stay lost for long! A passerby picked it up, discovered what was in the bag, and being, thankfully, a good citizen and not criminally minded, took it - on a crowded tram - to the nearest Police Station and handed it in!!
Our Minister for Justice was quoted as saying that it is "a matter of grave concern". Well, yes, Minister. It is! Considering that there's a very bloody fued going on between two major criminal gangs in Dublin for several years, which has cost a lot of lives, it is a matter of grave concern! :o :o

O M G. just imagine if it had fallen into the wrong hands.
Reminds me of when OH came home and said someone had brought a live grenade to Rainham Marsh reserve on an open day, to give to the Military heritage group that had a stall there. it was a memento of his war years
