Wildflower ID help

Whilst on my bike ride, I saw this really strange looking flower. I have only seen similar in garden centres, known as Powder Puff trees, but this is not one of those. This has a thick wild rose stem, with nasty thorns and small leaves, like a rambling rose. I hope the photo shows up as I have had to shrink it. It only had this one flower and no other buds.
Has anyone seen one before and know what it is? It's a mystery. 19

Don;'t they have wild rose up on Fetlar? It's quite common down South at least.

Plenty of Rosa rugosa in my copse but probably to cold for the gall wasp that causes the disease. I expect they’re all on the Cornish Riviera, laying on sun loungers and sipping Pimms!

Oh wow. I just love this forum. Loads of info and answers, it's better than Wikipedia ?. There was me thinking I had discovered a rare wild flower ?
