Where is everyone?

Very good Rick. Just very busy elderly parents take up a lot of time, work etc

........ and I was up til 6am on Saturday night carousing which sort of takes up all the next day recovering. But now bright and rested and ready for this afternoons weekly meeting of the Scrabble Club. Simple folk with simple pleasures, us islanders!

I'd forgotten my login details.
Both my layers have died, so I've been buying hens. They're all too immature to lay yet. I'm upto 8 girls now, can't resist when I'm at the auction.

Tell me about it. I went with my mate and we generally split what we buy as he generally only wants the odd bird. Whilst he went back to the car to get the pet carrier I'd gotten another hen. Couldn't help myself. Missed out on some rir. Next time! First year I've not hatched any eggs.

Pretty busy atm Icemaiden, having just moved we are trying to get things ready for Winter. Lots of things needed fixing as the last owner couldn't do anything practical and needed tradesmen for everything. Was going to post about the 'natural pecking order', as we have 4 TNN's truly free ranging and displaying surprising associations, but time is too short to answer any replies to the post.

Good to know that you're all still here. It's like a virtual community of friends. :-)99

Didn't realise you'd just moved again Chris? I thought you'd already found your permanent home?

Any chance of some pictures of your new birds, BigJim?

This is our third place in France Icemaiden and our last. Signed the agreement to purchase last September but couldn't complete until Mid-May. Then followed three months of moving, which had delays due to mobility problems with me first falling through a ceiling cracking a rib and then a leg injury.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that, Chris.
How did you manage to fall through the ceiling?

OH and I were down south to visit daughter. (Not a hen in sight :-) ) Very warm down there!
