Where are you all? Tigger would like everyone to know that today she laid the most beautiful pale blue egg the world has ever seen (in her opinion at least)!!! Mind you, she said the same thing yesterday and the day before... 😉

Still in France Icemaiden and once again we are all suffering from the heat. Been a silly hot and very dry Summer which started beginning of June. As a result pretty much all our veg planting failed and I've taken the decision to stop wasting time and money in there. Maximum temperature this year smashed the old record of 41C as we recorded 43.5C. It's 34C in the shade again today and I'm re-felting that mobile coop I posted about in 2012 for the first time, so it's lasted well. Managed to buy some proper quality rolls of felt here which were actually made in England and considerably cheaper than prices in England as well- no idea how that came about? Surprising none of ours complained about the hammering whilst they were laying!

What a tolerant flock 😄. My girls had a flap this morning when all I was doing was shaking out the last few layers' pellets from the paper sack onto the floor of the run before it went into the recycling bin.

It goes to show how well you made your coops ready for your move to France, that you're still using them 13 years later. I'm impressed!

A question for Josh...
The other day I tried to get onto the forum from my laptop, which doesn't autofill the web address when I type in the first few letters...

The closest that I could get, using both Google & Firefox, was Tim's Poultrykeeperforum.com website. Try as I may, I couldn't get the forum to come up in search results. That might explain why the forum is so quiet these days?

Could you do some SEO tweaks so that the forum comes up in search results please? I'd really miss this forum if it disappeared. It's been a fantastic resource for useful information & advice over the years as well as a melting pot of great people.

@Icemaiden i'm not sure what could be causing that. what search terms did you use? when i search for poultry forum it comes right up but obviously all our results are different. I did have to lock things down bc of the incessant spam but if we have folks willing to check in daily and help kill the spammers, im ok with reopening registrations

If you have cookies saved on your device, Google et al will show you what you usually look at. I clear my cookies daily. So the difficulty that I had trying to find the forum will mirror that experienced by potential new readers.

I tried terms such as "poultry keeper forum", "poultry love of" (always used to work... ) & "chicken keeper uk".

I'm used to adding search terms to a website rather than a forum so I don't know how it works to optimise SEO for a forum?

One thing that used to bring a lot of newcomers to the forum were the pinned topics; things that most new poultry keepers need to know, such as what constitutes a normal poo, how much space to allow per hen in a run or coop, how to build a predator proof run, etc. If you could reinstate those from the historic data on the forum, it would be a great help for a lot of people.
