We all have chickens so surely we have lots of eggs!! What's your favorite dish/es to make with eggs?

for those that keep chickens for meat, what's your favorite chicken dish? :D

At the moment I love French Toast or maybe a nice Croque-madame for lunch or tea! We've not raised any of ours for eating so I wouldn't know the first on going down that route, but I love chicken! Especially chicken wings buffalo style! :D

We do Tandori chicken breast on the BBQ. On older birds its the only bit worth eating and can be removed with little mess in minutes. Of course in times gone by when meat wasn't wasted because food was more expensive the old hens used to go in the pot. Friends dad kept chickens on a commercial scale and the locals used to call round to see if he had any old hens they could have.
Poached egg is my favourite -3 bantam eggs on toasted home made French flour bread for breakfast, loads of butter.

my mums cheese quiches hubbaaaaaaaaa hubbbaaaaaaa hot out the oven we make 2 large ones each time and hehehehehhehe well i umm can eat both without any probs

Fry a chopped onion with some thin-cut bacon rashers cut up into little strips, and add a few lightly- cooked frozen peas (microwave them briefly.) Whisk up 3 or 4 eggs, add some grated cheddar cheese, enough to make it tasty, stir in the onion and peas, pour the lot into a well-greased shallow dish. Bake it gently in a cool oven until the egg is cooked (or micrwave on Low or Warm.) Lovely hot or cold and very quick to make - makes a good picnic snack (do you remember picnics, when the sun used to shine?)

ooooh minus the peas sounds yummers! i like omlettes. :D Is that something Rick Stein has done? it sounds very Rick Stein-ey. I like his food. :)

we make our own pastry but thats mums department  well we use a whole pack of grated cheese , 3 or 4 eggs beaten with a touch of salt and pepper and then put cheese into the pasty then pour over the eggs its very very easy if you are good at making pastry that is then leave in oven for about 20 - 25 mins until golden brown on top .

Yummm you lot are making me hungry again and we have just eaten home grown roast pork!

Maybe if we have enough recipes we could start a new section?? hmmm?? :D

Eggs every which way but top of the list is egg custard.

welll i would have egg sarnies tomorw but i have sold out  think i got 1 bantam egg left .

Mmmm croque Madame is a winner for me and galettes with ham egg and cheese. We eat our chickens but mainly have roasts. We also give our dog the leftover carcass if we only take legs and breasts, so no waste!! We also want to try smoking chicken as I love smoked chicken. :-))

I have always wondered what the difference is between croque monsieur and croque madame is? I loved munching a hot croque monsier and coffee as breakfast when in France...yummm! :D

A Croque Madame is a Croque Monsieur with a fried, (or poached depending on where you go), on top! :D yummy scrummy.

Boring now but Scrambled eggs. Home produced eggs have so much flavour that they make a boring dish so tasty. Only problem is when I pass some eggs over to a neighbour and they make any Egg dish. I don't have many surplus but they want more.

Hi,
Definetly bacon and egg pie, please see the recipe on my blog,
Dan

And scroll down a bit

Just had my first croque Madame for my supper tonight, had never heard of it until this post, and YUM! Good call, this shall be a regular on my menu from now on.
As for a favourite dish - eggy chits. Can't beat an egg mayo sarni with a cuppa and some Loose Women on the TV.......
G'nite!

I think that a recipe section on the forum, for all poultry items, and then from that people can make what they like the look of and then rate the dish on taste and how easy it is to make
