Brilliant! Someone is very talented!

My head is full of egg sales at the moment because I've just received an article about the rules and regulations of sales from the gate :-)07 I will upload it and publish it later this month.

we have sold 2 doz duck and doz mix so far but not through sign, friends and family lol
i think the rules say you can from gate as long as you give a date and dont sell by size and at boot sale if give a guide on how to keep

Its great! The eggs are cheap. We have been walking a fair bit this weekend and seen lots of eggs for sale. All I saw were £1.00 per half dozen.

Its great! They would sell as K says. 5ft tall----do they need planning permission?!Ros

there a fue for sale around here but the super markets keep doing deals have to do cheaper or no one will bother stoppin as there no parking and quite a fast road and we have far too many eggs
im gettin 13 a day my mum 10/11 and my sister 6

i am liking it :D :D maybe you should do some more and sell them :-)05

Now that's a great idea!

I must say, I charge £1.60 for 1/2 dozen eggs - they are large eggs though and I don't need to sell loads so I usually charge what the supermarkets sell 6 medium free range eggs for. I don't sell them at the gate though.. just at work. I give quite a few away though to neighbours and friends and they are always appreciated.

Lovely sign, but why undersell your lovely eggs? I think £1.50 for 6 is fine and still cheaper than supermarket free range eggs. (Just get her to paint a '1/2' in front of the 'dozen' on your sign.) However, maybe bantam eggs should be sold at a bit less than large hens eggs? I would think the idea is basically to help cover feed costs and you wouldn't do this at £1.50 per dozen.

How do you collect the money? My friend sells at the gate and he has a locked cash box superglued to a very solid large box, with his sign painted on the side of the box, and people just put the money in there without him having to keep coming to the door. He puts the boxes of eggs in a large coolbox, and people return the empty boxes to this so they don't blow away.

Next month's Practical Poultry magazine is going to have an article about the ins and outs of selling your own eggs, if anyone's interested.

we have a door bell so can ring as there always someone in, where i live its not safe to leave the eggs out side
morrinsons were doing 9 free range for 90p the other week not offen get good deal on eggs but some times it happens

People always want 'real' free range over supermarket ones, you'd get the higher price!! I have a que of friends wanting my eggs but this year my numbers are down so not so many to give away.

iv just collected 13 eggs iv still got 3 doz to go and 2 doz at my mums, i think as soon as people start geting them we can put price up i have told them its going up on the ducks soon
