Hi,
My little chickens are 10 weeks old and spending days outside in the coop. I bring them in at night as it is around 6 deg celcius. I have tried leaving them out but they cry. I'm not sure if they cry because they are used to coming in after dark or if they are too cold. They don't think to go up the ramp to the nesting box even tho they do that during the day.
They are fully feathered and healthy but I don't know what temperature is safe for them.

Hi, sounds like a bit of both. They can be outside all the time from about 8 weeks when they are fully feathered. I think because they are brought in at night they feel a bit cold when left out in the evening amd as you said they are used to being brought in (it's their safe place). I would leave them outside even at night now. If they won't go in the coop at night is there a way to put them in yourself and shutting them in? They will probably cry a bit but the first night will be the worst within 3 days you will probably find they will go in themselves and after a week the coop will be their safe place. My chicks weren't keen when transferred outside to start with but after a few days they are happy and used to their new home. They will keep each other warm, if your a bit worried you could put some more bedding down for them. Hope this helps and chicks are settled soon :-)
