What is the best way to get rid of mice?

get a cat! or a jack russel terrier

depends where they are as to whether poison is a good idea - I worry about our hens & other animals.
have you tried traps?

yes we have tried traps and poison, but i am scared that the chickens might get it

MIAOW!!!!! you can buy a bait station for the poison so the chickens couldnt get at it.

i had a rat living in my run under one of my houses that i built so i brought a bait box an hid it under some pallets within the run where the girls cant get to i do worry about it but i havent had any probs with my girls getting near it at all but once the house was removed the rat or rats soon went although i have had the odd mouse in there personally i dont think our runs will ever really be able to stay mouse or rat free i would hate to know just how many go though the runs each night .
i will need to remove it in the spring for when i build the girls thier all new weather shelter but i need to find someone to do it 10 the spiders will be to much for me taking down the shed was well fully unbearable for me :lol:
