You're very very close. The place is Arcadia, Louisiana, in 1934. The event is the towing into town of Bonnie and Clyde's car which had been ambushed outside of town and had 150 bullets pumped into it. The car itself is now a bit of a macabre attraction at "Whiskey Pete's" casino in Nevada along with Clyde's bloodstained shirt.

A right pair of scumbags, why on earth Hollywood chose to romanticise them is beyond me.
 
Streaking seemed a bit of a fashion in the 70's, i think that's at a rugby match isn't it?, he looks too posh to be at a 70's football match.
 
Isn't this from an England v France rugby match at Twickenham, in aid of the Paris air disaster appeal. If I remember rightly the man in question was an Australian

It’s one of those brilliant photojournalism photos that look posed but are entirely natural. The police obviously think it’s funny and I love the strategically placed helmet. Whereas the chap in the dark glasses and pursed lips, with the amazing hair parting, puffing up behind with the coat, is quite worried.
 
The streaker at the ashes from the album cover Diane mentions had shoes and socks on, plus they don't have corner flags at cricket. Pretty sure this is the rugby.
 
Have just looked it up (didn't want to cheat). A clean sweep for BYM on this one, it was indeed England v France in aid of the air disaster appeal and the man was called Michael O' Brien an Australian trainee accountant, he's now a stockbroker which perhaps explains a lot.

Streakers have always annoyed me at sporting events as they disrupt the flow of the game and can change momentum, I think given what this game was in aid of it seems a bit distasteful. I would have locked him in a room with the police dogs and shouted "SAUSAGES".
 
I am with LadyA on this. Looking at the dress code, I will guess 1964. Only because that's when I was born ha ha ;-)

The reason I remember it is, our neighbour's daughter was killed in the plane crash, she was on the flight to be her sisters bridesmaid. The wedding was postponed and was a very quiet affair a month later.

Love the idea of shutting him in a room and shouting sausages
