Well thats a shame

Found our chicken who had been lame and recovered dead this morning. Only a year old and we hatched the eggs under a broody so not sure what happened. Did open her up to have a look and think it could have been kidney trouble, going to do some more detailed looking through my notes on chickens, but now down to only boris and three adult hens plus the eleven chicks.

Sorry to hear that. Its frustrating when they seem to go so suddenly and without any real signs of being unwell.

Sorry to hear that too - chickens sometimes seem to just 'drop dead' for no apparent reason and it's frustrating not knowing why.

You were brave having a look - I've never been able to bring myself to do that yet but I've been lucky enough to have only lost one hen this year.
