Wat run supports do you have?

I am having to replace the wooden framework to my run once again.

It measures approximately 32ft x16ft and I used 3inch square tanakised timber for the uprights and cross bars. However the have all rotted and require replacing.

As an alternative to wood for the 3rd time I like the idea of using 42mm galvanised hand rail. I have managed to buy a bulk load of galvanised joints for the 42mm poles but am struggling to find a good price for the galvanised poles. My run will require a lot of it, but am still keeping an eye out for some second hand galavanised hand rail.

Would forum members please outline what type of framework you have used for your run? I know I won't be using Tanalised timber next time!

Surprised to hear the tantalised timber has rotted. My fence posts have been in for 15 years and are all fine. These are also what I used for my run construction and they are similarly fine. How old is your run?

My tanalised posts are also OK, after 6 years. We did give them several coats of preservative on the bases where they would go into the concrete, though.

We've had treated timber rotting far too quickly too, tree supports in our cas, so annoying, isn't.

Our run is made of heras panels (those galvanised metal panels you see around construction sites), very easy to erect and so practical - we're both 6ft2 and we can stand upright in it for starters Got a load of panels secondhand, wouldn't make a large run any other way anymore now. Would attach a picture if I knew how 02

I've seen runs made of Heras panels and was going to do that ...

We had new treated (agricultural) fence posts rot at ground level. The stuff they use these days just isn't any good. The local timber merchant had a huge tannelsing plant which they had to stop using because the Safety Elves don't like it.
