That young one looks to me to have "Black Rock" blood. I have a BR, Buf orp Mut or three... they look very similar. Probably find a size difference though. Mine nearly match my Favs for size.... :-)07

EDIT: The two day pic is wrong for a black rock ... jmho... only done it once :-)10

Hi
Thank you.All pictures are same bird. The size is bantm as he is half the size my silver/grey dorking-they grew up together.Do you think thet could be a orpington crassed with black rock. The chick looks like was orpington.

I could be wrong but I think that silver lacing does not show in the first feathers. Hopefully your little cockerel will colour after its first moult.

Thank you ,but I had seen the pictures of this breed on the web (same age as mine)and they have already lacing on them :D

Hi,All
I'm starting to think that my cockerel is a black orpington but has some splashes of white.I try to post some new pictures of him as he develop more feathers now. Most of them are black with this sheen of dark green and few splashes of white,so maybe his mother was silver laced orpington but father black orpington?

He is a nice boy, it looks like in the breeding pen there would have been a hen or the cock carrying dominant black (eb) gene...muddying the silver lacing.

He looks like a black and blue orpington cross at the moment with white bits. Maybe Animartco is right and the colouring doesn't show until the final feathers are out.

hi tygrisek. Lovely photos, but the feathers shouldn't look so bedraggled in the centre back, and on the tail. Looks as if you might have a touch of depluming mite. Is the skin red and inflamed? There should be lacing in the hackle when that comes through, but whether he will be laced all over depends on how well bred he is.

Hi,thanks but he is heathy no mites of any kind its just the way he is.He is very oftan handled and chased by my son,so there you go:)

i thought he looked a bit like my orpington bantan when he was a younger from the fluffy feathers but hes more slender in the neck in the last photos. very pretty

Well I said a blue/ black Orpington cross with white bits originally and I'll stick with that. His chest shape is all Orpington with Orpington short legs. He's a handsome chap anyway.

Thank you .He is now 27 weeks old,has great chartacter, very gentle with us and having more white comming up.Still he has many feathers to grow(I meen new comming up) And most recent pictures :D20111007_99_12.jpg20111007_99_15.jpg
