Turkeys with Chickens

I was wondering if it is safe to keep turkeys with chickens. (Not together as in the same coop or pen, but in the same yard near each other.) I heard that turkeys can spread diseases to chickens quite easily. 99

Actually, it is chickens that can carry the blackhead parasite without showing any symptoms and pass it on to turkeys that can be badly affected by it.

Some people are lucky CC and don't have a problem. But I've seen reports of total wipeout with Turkey flocks exposed to chickens due to Blackhead. A minimum of two years isolation of ground previously occupied by chickens is also recommended.
