turkey weights

Hello everybody,
I have raised six poults for the table. I think there are three males and three females. A couple of the males have started fighting so I am thinking of doing them early but I don't want to end up with scrawny birds for the table. Is there any way I can work out how much they would weigh when dressed out?

Not really, it depends on how much they eat between now and when you cull them. Stags insides also weigh a tad more than the females once dressed. If you want them earlier, try feeding them Finishing pellets, earlier, although, ours are on it now so you won't have very long to try and bulk them up. You could try and separate the stags from the hens to reduce fighting.

I think you take off between 20 and 25% of live weight to give you a rough idea of the dressed weight.
