What are all the food and plants that chickens can’t eat?
I realize that we don’t have a toxic food tread so here it is please let me know all the things a chicken can’t eat.

Stinging nettles are good for them if dried first, very high protein, the roots are very good for male humans too.

I had problems feeding poppy seeds to my quail, i noticed one seemed to really like them and then they all wanted them and fights were breaking out over access to the dish with the biggest one guarding it and making weird clucking noises.

I had to remove them from the menu, residual opioids causing the problem i think.

None stick pans are the other thing, thankfully i heard about this and got rid of mine before getting quail, they release a gas when hot that kills birds.

They generally know what not to eat, but not always. They can eat grass that is too long and impact their digestion. Ours will eat lizards given the chance but then are poisoned and ill for days. Bugs in compost heaps are anaerobic and cause botulism- paralysis and death. Same with maggots from within dead animals. They can nibble at potted plants out of curiosity and be sick. Strangest thing they will eat is foam rubber! Never been a problem surprisingly, despite stripping all the insulation off a polytunnel frame. They will eat cherries whole and the real greedies will eat damsons whole, particularly if the rest are trying to take it off them. Result of eating fruit stones is digestive impaction and slow death. Cabbage they love, but it must be chopped into small pieces and not the veins in the leaves. It can cause digestive impaction as well. We made the mistake of giving them whole leaves to peck at, but when there is competition for it the problems arise as they try to eat it as fast as possible.
